Illustration Friday: Climbing

This is my image for IF's topic 'Climbing'. I tried something a bit different, using Blender to create rendered 3d models and importing them into the GIMP, combining them with hand-drawn and scanned elements.

This is the original pen and ink sketch for 'Repair' - which needed an extensive remodelling of the right arm!

This is my image for Illustration Friday's topic 'Repair'. Time constraints meant that I had to reduce this to a monochrome drawing, with no background. I intended to have the robot working in a wooden toolshed, surrounded by chains, gears and spare parts on all sides, and to colour and shade the whole image in orange/red/brown tones.
